In an interview with IGN, executive producers Lindsey Weber and Callum Greene shared the challenge of taking on The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power and revealed one of the things they agreed on before the release of the series.

Weber discussed, “One of the things that we talked about a lot was wanting to be sure the show stayed accessible to people who were non-fans and hadn’t read the books or seen the movies as those who are diehard fans.”

Greene described the series from the perspective of someone behind-the-scenes, “I think us on the ground, we were enjoying playing with this, molding this clay, if you will, and sculpting something we think is truly original.”

Not everyone has the luxury of getting to read the books of Tolkien and making the story of the series accessible to all opens the doors for new fans to get to know Middle-earth, its history, and how the events unfold when it comes to the Third Age.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is expected to dive deep into the Second Age with new stories that are yet to be told being set thousands of years before the formation of the fellowship, giving the people behind the series some liberty to introduce something new to the lore.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power recently released its double-header premiere and it surely has a lot of things to unpack especially with the characters and the whole new fantasy world.
