Although the film has a pretty outstanding cast, many were surprised to find some of the biggest Hollywood A-listers pop up in the film. Whether they’re playing an actual role being referenced to in Bullet Train or their presence is completely random, fans were pleased with the surprises that the film gave. Here are the Bullet Train cameos that you need to keep an eye out for:
Channing Tatum
The first cameo you might spot in Bullet Train is by Channing Tatum, who recently starred in The Lost City with Sandra Bullock and Brad Pitt himself. Tatum steals the limelight in one of the scenes when Ladybug (played by Pitt) approaches him in the train. Not only does Ladybug have to avoid being detected by Lemon (played by Brian Tyree Henry) and Tangerine (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson), he also has to evade the train conductor (played by Masi Oka) since he lost his ticket early on. Ladybug slips into one of the empty seats and finds himself face-to-face with a man reading a book. He asks to swap clothes with the stranger, who happens to be Tatum. Tatum responds: “Is this a sex thing?” Ladybug answers no and gets access to Tatum’s clothes. After that, Tangerine spots Tatum as he is dressed in Ladybug’s clothes. Tatum again asks if it was “a sex thing.” One of the easter eggs in this scene is that Tatum is reading a book written by Sandra Bullock’s character, Loretta Sage, in The Lost City.
Sandra Bullock
Speaking of Bullock, the veteran actress plays the role of Maria Beetle, Ladybug’s handler who speaks to him on the phone for most of the movie. At the end of the film, Beetle appears to greet Ladybug just before the train explodes.
Ryan Reynolds
The last Bullet Train cameo to look out for comes from Ryan Reynolds himself. His appearance in the film is very quick and in a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it moment. Reynolds plays the role of Carver, the assassin that Ladybug is filling in for in the first place.
Right now, we don’t know if these cameos have any significance to them or if they suggest a sequel to come in the future. But we’ll have to wait until an announcement has been made.
Bullet Train is now available to stream on Netflix.
